Run the whole damn world.

Joined Noom. Why Noom? Why now? To record my diet. That's it. Like so many apps, we turn our daily business into games, or social media platforms through which we can focus so entirely on ourselves. I know.

But the fact is, the spring arrives and I am motivated by good weather to exercise! And to track my diet! And then it gets cold and I go into hibernation mode, neither moving very much and eating anything I want. That I want.

So now, the fall, the beginning of sugar season, is a good time to do this, and we will see what happens. In two days it had already made me aware of how much non-plant matter I consume, and how many carbohydrates.

So! I do not need to set it down here. It is there. And here I can reflect and concentrate on the exercise itself. And the world outside. Until I get that gym membership.

Don't give up and don't give in.

Took a shortcut behind the elementary school in hopes to cut the route to exactly three miles. Came close. However, MapMyRun tells me there is a water break in Cumberland Park, so I will continue revising.

High humidity. Six AM run. May need to rise earlier to get even a little relief. There's this issue of X-Men where the team is trapped by Magneto in his secret lair deep beneath Antarctica. Storm raises the humidity in the space which wreaks havoc on the systems or something and everyone is sweating profusely.

John Byrne's image of X-Men sweating is what always pops into my mind on mornings like this.

To see your shoes and your spirits rise.

Yesterday I prepared to run ... and realized I hadn't eaten anything, and I felt that. I neither felt like eating anything at that moment - I was ready to go - nor did I want to feel weak and hungry during the run. Fortunately, we got a tub of dried apple yesterday, which was perfect. Not only was it dry enough not to get stick in my hand, but I could put one in my mouth and keep it in the corner of my jaw - first mouthed to be last swallowed.

Temperature: 75°
Distance: 3.38 miles
Avg Pace: 7.50
Climate: ideal (but humid)

The boy often asked why I have no games on my phone, and I said I do not need to spend a lot of time playing games on my phone. Better not have them.

Then I downloaded Quiz Up (I know, so 2014) and to prove myself right I have been unable to stop playing the Shakespeare topic for three days.

ROUND ONE: Which play is quoted in this blog post?
