Have a nice life.

We have been aching lately. Check the exercise roster, that may have something to do with it. Hips, ankles, feet, knees. All a bit sore. Unpleasant.

Distance: 4.15 miles
Duration: 37:25
Pace: 9:01

But anyway, I did bring my kit to Cincinnati. I have a day all to myself, and that should include exercise. The forecast is wonderful and I would have seriously regretted not taking the opportunity for a run.

How were we last year? Not bad.

Route: Gaslight Loop (2x)
Temperature: 71°
Climate: dark clouds w/thunder in the distance
Mood: good?

Decent rest. Good breakfast, Maria always makes something nice. Now, what am I going to do with the rest of the day? The last time I was in this room, I was writing and doing research for the play that goes up later this month. Today, I may just read.

Could you please walk a little slower?

So far, March Mildness has been a success. It has been easy to say no, just yesterday I thought hey, I'm in a coffee show, getting tea. Why not a cookie? But why a cookie, would I enjoy it? Am I in the mood for a cookie, or is it just that cookies are readily available (and not even that, I'd have to pay for it) so I just got the tea. Easy.

And the alcohol. Really. Sitting in a bar with my brother drinking a Coke (it could have been water) I was worried about what the bartender might think -- for a moment. Then I just enjoyed my Coke.

There's a week left, we are going out of town. That makes me think, ooh, dining out, won't I want to drink? Well, no, actually. I'd rather keep a clear head, thanks. It feels good.

What about the future? Stop keeping the beer fridge fully stocked, for one thing. It encourages consumption. Doing dishes is not a cause for celebration. Save it for the weekend, or special moments. Sure, a show, a movie, a dinner out. Sitting in front of the fire on a Tuesday evening, a glass of water would also taste good. Yeah, I said it. Taste.

Know what has truly improved? My lungs. No more gasping, I should make note of whether or not I am sighing anymore. Or as much. I will always sigh.

Standing up might make me huff with exertion, but that's because my muscles ache, my knees.

It's 7:00 AM! Move yourself to go again.

Pathetic Geek Stories

Oh! The pain! I was doing a lot of bending and kneeling in the kitchen last night, and I just didn't want to stand up. Also, sometime the muscles in my abdomen hurt, like where I had my hernia operation. This has been the case for years, I comes, to goes. When I am in shape, when I have been working my muscels, these pains do not happen (much).  When they go slack, they do.

I'm becoming an old man. Not yet. Getting there. How many more years of running?

Distance: 3 miles
Duration: 30:01
Pace: 10:00
Route: Forest Hill Loop
Temperature: 60°
Climate: after the rain, sunny & perfect
Mood: good
Weight: 189.5 lbs. (+3.0)

All right.

Intake
Breakfast: coffee (2x)
Lunch: Galley Boy, potato teesers, fried mushrooms, milkshake
Dinner: toasted macaroni & cheese with bacon sandwich, beer
Cocktail: old fashioned, chocolate
Late night snack: Bowl of cereal
Also, Fizzy water (2x)

Good call, running early. The clouds blew in, the temperature dropped, the rain resumed. Might snow in the next day or so? Warm again next week. It was beautiful, though I changed up the route a little to avoid dogs and their walkers.

My heart was set to live.

Hmn. Ache in my left knee, and also in my right thigh or hip. Did some yard work this weekend, that's how I hurt my back a year or so ago. Thought I was all right. Running every day now, more or less, in training. Could be wearying.

Distance: 3 miles
Route: Forest Hill Loop

Sun breaks over the pond at Forest Hill Park. Oh, darling, I wish you could have seen it. A heron, not five feet away, taking off in flight. It was majestic.

Temperature: 55°
Climate: cool and humid
Weight: 161.5 lbs.
Mood: all right
