I'm still dancing at the end of the day.

Sometimes my eyes are truly awful. Puffy, irritated, my left eye has floaters, it's just imperfect. Often it becomes so red that people ask if I am okay. Seasonal allergies are an issue, and just the lingering after-effects of my injury and subsequent surgery. Yuk.

Short run this morning. It's a deep blue Tuesday.

Running before dawn now, it's nearly fall. Today I have run more times than I did back in 2016. I just keep going.

Everybody knows that you live forever.

Two years ago, I remember where I was. It was in North Carolina and I was sitting out on the deck, writing. There was this flashing in my left eye, it lasted a long time. Quite distracting. When it subsided, I noticed that there were a number of blurry little things, floating in my eye.

The eye doctor said that ... well he said something, I can't remember exactly what. Just a deterioration, something coming away from something else in the back of my eye. He didn't sound concerned. It's one of those thing, an operation may help alleviate the floaters, but really. Fixing it would be a major operation and possibly unsuccessful and was it really so inconvenient?

No, not so inconvenient. But it has continued. Not getting worse, but no better, either. A minor inconvenience,

The other day, as I was lying down to rest, the was more flashing. This time, in the lower right quadrant of my sight, a curve, like a corona, a bright line in the darkness when I closed my eyes. Monday night as I slept there was a different kind of flashing, like concentrated arms of light, in the same area.

Yesterday I looked in the mirror and closed my right eye, and I realized I had lost sight in ten to fifteen percent of vision in my left eye. Right where the corona had been, my sight had been carved away.

Panic on the streets of London.

The world is seized by extreme temperatures. In Cleveland it's all right at the moment, just summery. When my brother lives, in England, they are coping with monstrously high temperatures. Record levels.

This is where we are. This is where we are headed. These are facts, and my children will have to deal with them because we have failed to.

Meanwhile, the vision in my left eye is getting worse. Cloudy, specks, floaters, even flashing lights when I try to sleep at night. I saw one eye doctor, twice, who had little patience or interest in my concerns. I will be seeing (heh) a new eye doctor soon.

Long ago I realized that if I had to choose, I would rather be blind than deaf. This is still true.

I have tried marijuana, I get nervous every time.

This is 53.
We are maintaining. My homework has been dense, hard to read, both in text and also its image in the form of scanned PDFs. My sight is becoming an issue.

Running in the dark can hurt my back, if I do not know or misjudge where my foot is going to fall. This did not used to be a problem, but then I did not used to have back problems.

Anyway, good morning.

Distance: 3.3 miles
Duration: 31:08
Pace: 9:25
Route: Boulevard Loop
Temperature: 61°
Climate: cool
Mood: all right
Weight: 171 lbs. (+1.0)

Now it is cool. Early runs can be dangerous for other reasons, too. Unwise dinner choice led to intestinal distress, let's just say that.

Intake
Breakfast: coffee (2x), banana, doughnut
Lunch: mushroom stew over rice, peach, Oreos (2)
Happy hour: Guinness, M&Ms
Dinner: Salad w/spicy chicken

Striving hard not to snack during rehearsal. We maintain, we maintain. This is the time of year year when I begin gaining weight. Can we flip that? For the sake of consistency?
