I've been running 'round in circles in my mind.

Need to get to the gym more often, certainly more than once a week. The modest workout I did Friday morning, I was feeling it during the run yesterday, and then the rest of the day after that. I was sore just getting into bed last night.

More of that, please.

Week Four Total: 26.75
Training To Date: 83.65

So we planned to run the cemetery ... which doesn't open until 7:30 AM. I knew that. I forgot. So instead, we ran down through University Circle to MLK, our turnaround was at the India Garden, but we took a walk up to the British Garden on East Blvd. to show Chris the bust of Shakespeare.

He carried water (I forgot that, too) which was a very good plan, we would have suffered without it. Also, he tried a gel after four miles, he tried one during one of our half marathons and was sick the rest of the day, so this was a test. I can consume them no problem, but I know there are those with whom they do not agree.

Good news, he did not shit himself. Great run!

Make a playlist for the girl with all the music from the third season of Stranger Things ... and padded it out with songs from the summer of 1985 that are thematically correct and should have been included.

Every time El changed outfits in the mall she would exclaim, "I could totally rock that! No fair!"

Anyway, here it is. Enjoy! Take it on the run. Take it to the pool.

Today: 163 lbs. (-1.0)

Don't it make you feel alive.

Reading "King Lear" at Beachwood Library last night.
One week of camp can go awful fast ... even when you are staying up late to watch basketball. It has been a good week, even if it affords little time to run. Two days off and already my thigh is complaining. We have been eating well, I have been doing upper body work, but my legs feels little thin.

The heat has settled in, every day it is supposed to storm. Summer is here and I hope we do not lose many performances of Timon. Not too much we can do about that.

Temperature: 73°
Distance: 3.38 miles
Avg Pace: 7.52
Climate: hot and humid, but overcast

Two glasses of water, sir, before you go out. Three mile run and I was parched. Training starts Monday, this is how we must go for the duration. Any run with an average below eight is fast enough, when I push it out in July and August this will become very painful without more water or more water stops.

I fell asleep while running. Not literally asleep, as in closed my eyes and dozed, but for a moment I imagined I was actually wearing the chukka boots. A hallucination. Haven't had one of those in years. That is what I am talking about -- rest, hydration, sustenance.

There are almost a half dozen gel packs in my drawer from the race three years ago. Are they still good?

Weight: 157 lbs.
From Goal: -3.0

You can't break me, 'cause I'm already this way

Socked with another terrible headache yesterday, this time on the left side of my sinuses. This is distressing because I am trying to judge the effect of this new medication and it comes exactly at the change of season - when I traditionally get killer migraines.

I felt it coming on when I woke up. I do not believe 8.30 is sleeping in, and this never happened over the summer when I would occasionally get some extra sleep, only when the weather cools.

40 degrees. Jacket weather. Downing a "Jet Blackberry" GU I found in my kit box. Doesn't expire for a year but it seemed more appealing to me this morning than a banana.

Until I ate it.

Distance: 3.25 miles
Temperature: 40º
Weather: awesome
Weight: 163.5 lbs.

A second piece of quiche? No, thanks. A beer? That's okay, I'll just drink this. Mn, no popcorn, not tonight. Let's see how long I can keep this up.

Ah, the skunks of Cleveland Heights. Okay, I am just waiting for a knee to blow out. Really. Because one must, right? Could be either one. I have no idea what is going on inside of me. I guess there is not much to be done about it except to keep on until injury, and keep taking omega-3s, being kind to myself, etc.

A lot of talk this weekend at the censorship symposium at CPT about my shows this Spring. At least, a lot of talk in my vicinity. Really, can I see a show at CPT without Raymond calling me by name - twice - from the stage? (Am I complaining? Of course not.) But I did get to sell the piece to a number of people.

Now I need to work on it. Actually technical work, of any kind, is on hold until KILL WILL goes up ... my entire crew is working on that. But though I have the edits in my head, I have not spent much time actually making them. I get some writing time this Sunday, if I can focus I could dedicate that time solely to these pieces.
