110 days to the Cleveland Half Marathon. Oy.

It was about this time last year (well, in the middle of February) that I went stark-raving stir-crazy and started running every other day regardless of whether or not the sedentary weasels who live in my neighborhood had shoveled their sidewalks. I don't know if I have the stomach for that this year.

Regardless, it has been over two and a half weeks since my last run, and I have been going insane. I am soft and unhappy. So who knows ... maybe I'll even buckle and spend money on a gym membership (shudder.)

I don't want my hair to fall out

The boss sent me this link today:

Ouch. Feeling that in my left shin. It wasn't raining when I came in, but it was when I went back out. Good thing I had gloves, a hat for my ears - I was a little blind, raindops on my glasses, but I would have hated that wind in my ears. Would have worn long pants if I had known, it was a little too bracing on my knees. And shins.

Don't believe everything that you breathe

The Annual January Heat Wave! The wife has been in Vermont since last Thursday. I have a succession of babysitters and parents (mine) looking after the kids while I am at work, so getting away for a run has not been possible. But after yesterday's temperatures were so balmy, I virtually despaired not getting out in it. Luckily S. was willing to stay late tonight so I took a mad dash through the twilight downpour. Luscious!

Stats:
Distance: 3.25 miles
Weight: 173 lbs.
Stretches: somewhat
Sit-Ups: no
Snack: Zone Perfect Bar
Drink: Gatorade
Start Time: 5.40 pm
Temperature: 64º

WHAT? A rainy night?! I LOVE a rainy night!

Things that happen when I cannot run on a regular basis:
Laundry Me cooking Picking up General housework Playing with children Conversing with children Watching TV with children Eating lots of garbage Drinking too much Gaining weight Insomnia Headaches

I could go on.
