Not as much of a complaint in my right shin, but it was there. Icing it now. Beautiful morning, pancake breakfast for the kids, weeding in the garden while the girl plays in her wading pool, and then a successful run in brilliant weather. Parched by the end, thought I was hydrated better ... how will I get water when I begin taking longer runs? Need to look that up.

There's a river in my head.
Weight: 168 lbs.
Distance: 3 miles
Stretches: Yes
Water: Yes
Weather: Cool and bright
Playlist:
Sexcrime (1984) - Eurythmics
My Sharona - The Knack
Five Fathoms - Everything But the Girl
Here's Where the Story Ends - The Sundays
Burn - Nine Inch Nails
Magical Trevor (Happy Hardcore Mix)* - Weebl
Had to walk for a few minutes in the middle there, felt something nasty in my left calf. Got back to running, and it felt better. Iced it at home. After yesterday (miserable, cold day) it was so bright and beautiful out today, shame I had that little incident, but it feels good now. Hope it feels all right tomorrow.
Some times I try to get up to running every day, but I constantly feel pain - on the tops of my feet (is there a name for the tops of your feet?) or constantly in my calves. Yesterday my feet felt pulled, but not today. Can I do a brisk three miles a day? I wonder how fast I will go on May 7th, whether I can get up to speed on that. I am considering featuring songs in the range of 160 - 180 bpms and nothing esle, but I worry if I am on a hill or something I'll screw myself up. Are there hills? I have no idea.

5.2 Miles to Happy
Weight: 165.5 lbs.
Distance: 5.2 miles
Weather: Hot
Water: Yes
Stretches: Hell, yes.
Sit-Ups: 20
Playlist:
Hip Hop Hooray - Naughty By Nature
Little Fluffy Clouds - The Orb
There There (The Boney King of Nowhere) - Radiohead
Love Rollercoaster - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Strict Time - Elvis Costello
Superstar - Jamelia
Everybody Everybody - Black Box
Just Like Heaven - The Cure
Scream - Michael and Janet Jackson
Absurd (Landslide Mix) - Fluke
Careful, boy. The first mid-day, hot run of the year and you go 5 miles with no water. You better watch that sh*t.
The Addidas aren't working out for me. They have been giving me blisters, on both feet, in the same small spot - instep. Running in my seven year old shoes give me a better time.

Not too sexy.
Weight: 166 lbs.
Distance: 3 miles
Water: yes
Stretches: yes
Weather: gorgeous, warm with a slight breeze
Playlist:
Munich - Editors
The Colony of Slippermen - Genesis
Troubled Mind - Everything But the Girl
The Sporting Life - The Decemberists
I'm Too Sexy - Right Said Fred
Leo Ryan (Our Pharoah's Army) - Lilys
No wonder I was scarfing down everything I could touch yesterday, I have dipped below 169. Apparently my body can't stand that. It is amazing what two weeks in a city that has decent public transportation will do to your metabolism, I've been home almost a week and I am still a little less dense.
That's my excuse, but it's a bad one. I had my running kit, and plenty of parks nearby, but I never used them. It was tough getting time to myself on vacation, with the kids. But at least there was an awful lot of walking.
What is a good excuse for not running for a month was the ugly, cold weather since my last run. I just hate running in the cold. Or, I like it better as it goes on, but starting is just awful. I love putting on as little as possible and just stepping off and woo.
Can't do the run on April 22, rats. First 5K now on May 7th.
